Following the end of Nye's term as Acting Governor, Henry G. Blasdel (born January 29, 1825 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana; died July 22, 1900 in Oakland, California) became the first Governor of Nevada, serving between December 5, 1864 and January 2, 1871.
