Squanto is best known for helping the Pilgrims at Plymouth Colony. He taught them how to plant crops, how to hunt and how to fish in the nearby streams. He also acted as a translator for the pilgrims during their dealings with Chief Massasoit. his help was absolutely vital to the survival of Plymouth Colony. The colonists almost certainly would have starved to death without his help.
