Asimov's 1st book "Pebble in the Sky" was published in 1950 and Dr Asimov passed away in 1992. So the 515 (and still counting) books was written over 42 years!

Isaac Asimov was an American science and science-fiction writer. Most well-known for hisFoundationseries, he wrote many novels and non-fiction books, and became well-known for hisRobotseries, which detailed the (fictional) laws of robotics; these laws came to be cited by other science-fiction writers in their own novels. By his death in 1992, Asimov had authored over 500 books.

He was named Humanist of the Year in 1984. He won a retro Hugo for "The Mule." He won a Damon Knight Grand Master Award in 1987. He also got a Hugo for Bicentennial Man and I Asimov. He also won several Locus Awards.
