I came here trying to find where "Those who can do, those who can't bully" came from myself.
The expression, "Those who can do; those who can't teach" I have always heard attributed to H. L. Mencken (1880-1956). Ironically I heard it first from one of my high school teachers. I looked in "A Mencken Chrestomathy" but he devoted a whole chapter to pedagogy and I don't have the time right now to read it--although it would certainly be entertaining. Mencken was constantly writing columns from 1899 to 1948--nearly 50 years--albeit with breaks during both world wars, plus he did quite a number of books, so tracking down that quote may take some doing.
