Which man made the first atomic bomb?

The first hydrogen bomb was designed by American Richard "Dick" Garwin. Whilst Garwin made the first design, Edward Teller and a team of scientists made the first actual bomb. In interviews, Teller was quite adamant that the credit go to Garwin for his design, but he accepted the credit for the construction of the bomb itself.

Other scientists who worked out the details of the design were Dr. Marshall Rosenbluth and Dr. Conrad Longmire.

Nobody knows the original created of the Hydrogen Bomb but one of the main inventors was Edward Teller. Teller was highly trained with nuclear weapons and had much experience so this is one of the people we give credit to.

The US didn't make the first atomic bomb by themselves...They had the help of the Canadian and the British in building it. This project was called "Operation Manhattan" or the "Manhattan Project."

No one person singularly created the hydrogen bomb, it was a collaboration of many brilliant scientists. Starting in early World War II, the United States created a program called The Manhattan Project which was designed to produce an effective atomic weapon relatively quickly. Robert Oppenheimer was in charge of overseeing the whole project, however many scientists such as Enrico Fermi, Edward Teller, Richard Feynman, and Niels Bohr to name a few worked on the project. In this way, one could say the United States created the first nuclear weapon, however it could not have done so without many people from other countries such as Werner Heisenberg (who was working on harnessing atomic energy in Nazi Germany), Niels Bohr, and Enrico Fermi. This bomb used fission (the splitting apart of atoms) to release it's energy; it was not a hydrogen bomb. It was known at this time that the sun worked because of fusing hydrogen nuclei and so scientists were working nonstop trying to reproduce this effect on a smaller scale and the US again finally succeeded on November 1st 1953, on a small island Eniwetok Island in the North Pacific.
