∙ 13y agoThe youngest mother was 5-year-old Lina Medina from Peru; she gave birth to a 2.0 kg (4.4 lb) son, named Gerardo, by Cesarean section on May 14, 1939 in Lima.
Her parents, who assumed their daughter had a tumor, took Lina to a hospital, where it was determined she was 7 months' pregnant.
Although Medina's father was arrested on suspicion of child abuse, he was later released due to lack of evidence, and the identity of the father was never uncovered.
Unconfirmed stories are that Lina's uncle had raped her. Lina told her friend, who told the police.
