In the United States, the president is someone who runs this country. He (and in the United States, so far, presidents have all been male) is the leader of the political party in power, sets the agenda for that party, and makes the major decisions regarding American foreign and domestic priorities. He is also the commander in chief of the military. A president in politics is like a prime minister-- some countries call their political leader a president, while others call him (or her) a prime minister-- and there have been some countries with a woman prime minister. Currently in America, the president is Barack Obama. Presidents serve a four-year term, and can then be re-elected to a second four-year term.
Presidential Government is a system of government in which the president is constitutionally independent of the legislature.
Barack H. Obama is our 44th president because he won the election against John McCain.

You do not capitalize "president'. You only capitalize "president" if you are using it with a president's name. EX: The president is tall. EX: The tallest president was President Abraham Lincoln.
