there was no 2008 winter Olympics. There was a 2008 SUMMER Olympics but not winter. There were a bunch of different people that won different medals in different sports in the summer '08 Olympics, not just one person winning the whole thing.

Carl August Kronlund of Sweden. Carl was 58 years, 155 days old when he competed with the Swedish team in curling at the 1924 Winter Games in Chamonix. He and the team won a silver medal.
Joseph Savage who, at 52 years and 267 days, competed in pairs figure skating at the 1932 Winter Games in Lake Placid. He and his partner, 39 year old Gertrude Meredith, finished 7th.
