There has not been a King of Scotland since the crowns of England and Scotland were formally united in 1707 to form what was then The United Kingdom of Great Britain.

Nowadays the country is called The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the heir apparent to the crown (next in line) is His Royal Highness The Prince Charles.

On his marriage to Princess Elizabeth (the future Queen Elizabeth II) Prince Philip was granted the style of His Royal Highness and the title of Duke of Edinburgh by his father-in-law, George VI. This is not an hereditary title so it will not pass to anyone else on his death. It is unlikely that any future royal will be given this title in the near future.
