∙ 15y agoThe Archbishop of Canterbury is the spiritual leader of the Anglican Church. His 'job' is to lead the Church, and to represent the Anglican Church worldwide - in the same way as the Pope would do in the Roman Catholic Church. The present Archbishop is the Rt Rev Rowan Williams. One should not be confused, however, between the term 'spiritual leader', 'supreme governor' and 'head' of the Anglican Church. Rowan Williams is the Spiritual Leader, The Supreme Governor is always the reigning King or Queen - presently Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and the Head of the Church is Jesus Christ.
