The Harlem Renaissance isn't a person, it was a period of time also know as the Jazz Age. During this time period many former slaves moved from the South to the North due to inequality (The Great Migration). Many of these African Americans moved to Harlem, NY. Here many great African American artist, musicians, and writers developed.
