∙ 10y agoLeo didn't the first ever solid body guitar after doing some googling was Rickenbacker is what Google / wikipedia to name a few sites are saying. Les Paul approached Gibson with the initial idea in the 1940s and they turned him down so he went to work for Fender until Gibson saw the success of the esquire.
Thomas Edison one of the most famous inventors in history behind Davinci proposed violins being made like this as well which I found very interesting.
