Who invented the 2012?

The theory is that the Mayan calendar ends in 2012. But the debate is that the Mayans say a monumental change is coming in 2012. "It isn't going to end its going to "recycle" as in the date will" it says but not in those words. And if possibly it does, then if accept Jesus as your savor then he will take you with him before it happends because hes supposed to come before the end.
