Ray Tomlinson in 1972. He wrote 2 program called SNDMAIL and READMAIL that sent messages accross the Arpanet, the first long distance switched packet network, forerunner of the internet.
Jon Postel and J. K. Reynolds published documents defining the more modern e-mail system we use today (RFC821 and RFC918) defining the SMTP (sending) and POP (receiving) protocols respectively. Note that, although they published the documents they didn't exactly invent the protocols, that was a wider group of people.
Ray Tomlinson, in 1971, was working on a time-sharing system (a system where multiple people have accounts on the same computer). He was working on the mail program that allowed these people to send messages to each other, and realized he could alter it so that people could send messages from one computer to another. He had two computers that were connected by the ARPANET, the predecessor of the Internet. He needed a way to link the recipient's name and the machine that hosts his mailbox, and he decided to use the @ symbol. email was born.

MIT's CTSS MAIL, created in 1965, is probably one of the earliest examples of an e-mail system, based on the CTSS file sharing system.

It was at MIT in the early 1970's.
Ray Tomlinson invented the first internet based email. The first email program was invented in late 1971 for the ARPANET while Tomlinson worked for BBN.

D.O.S. it is an operating system, it is the base for windows. That is incorrect. DOS was not their first product. Their first program was ALTAIR BASIC in 1975. DOS wouldn't come around until the release of the IBM PC in 1981.
The plantation system was first developed by Portuguese explorers in West Africa.

The first thing you have to do is get an email program. Most computers come with an email program. Then you have to set up your email program with an email server. To do this you should go on Google and search for it.

A email blast program works with a special software or through an email service provider. An email blast program is a very good way of advertising to customers.
In the early 1971, Ray Tomlinson was working on a small team developing the TENEX operating system, with local email programs called SNDMSG and READMAIL. In late 1971, Tomlinson developed the first ARPANET email application when he updated SNDMSG by adding a program called CPYNET capable of copying files over the network, and informed his colleagues by sending them an email using the new program with instructions on how to use it.
Ray Tomlinson is considered to be "Father of e-mail"
