No country attacked the US on 9/11. An international terrorist organization called Al Qaeda attacked the U.S. Most of the terrorists were Saudis (from Saudi Arabia). The home base of Al Qaeda was located in Afghanistan which led the United States to invade and occupy that country. Over 8 years later, Al Qaeda remains strong and has spread to many parts of the Middle East including Iraq and Pakistan.
