Extended family is anybody past just a single blood relation. Siblings, children, and parents are your non-extended family, while anyone else is. For example, cousins, aunts, grandparents, and nephews are all extended family members.

The members of your extended family are any people who are your relatives but are not:

  • your parents when you are a child
  • your brothers and sisters when you and they are children
  • your spouse
  • your children when you are an adult and they are not.
