Alex Turner is the lead vocalist, guitarist and main songwriter of the band. Jamie Cook is the other lead guitarist, Nick O'Malley is the bass player and Matt Helders is the drummer. The band have four albums since 2006.

Arctic Monkeys is a rock band, which hails from Sheffield, England. The band's current line up consists of Alex Turner (lead vocalist and guitar), Jamie Cook (guitar), Nick O'Malley(bass) (who replaced previous bass player Andy Nicholson in 2006), and Matt Helders (drums). Arctic Monkeys is signed to independent record label, Domino.
Although they are widely popular, it is noted that they are a part of the Indie rock scene. The Arctic Monkey's debut album, Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not, sold 363,735 copies in the first week, making it the fast selling debut album for a band in UK music chart history.
Arctic Monkeys are often noted for their social realism-influenced lyrics, which describe working class life in England. Alex Turner is the band's primary lyricist.
In 2007, the band has released the CD Favourite Worst Nightmare, which charted at #1 in the UK Albums chart. Singles off the album were "Brianstorm", "Fluorescent Adolescent" and "Teddy Picker".
In 2009, Arctic Monkeys released their third studio album, Humbug, which again charted #1 on the UK Albums chart. Singles off the album are "Crying Lightning" and "Cornerstone".
