Avalanches affect everything that is in their path down the slope. Avalanches can be snow, mud, rock, or dirt. As an avalanche travels down the hill or mountain it picks up speed and carries along with it anything that was in its way, i.e.; trees, houses, boulders etc. The items that it takes with it become part of the avalanche and help to destroy other things in the path. It affects plants, animals and a man if they are in the way.
