Oscar Wilde was an Irish poet during the Victorian era. He spent most of his adult life in England (especially London) until his imprisonment in Reading jail. When he was released he emigrated to France, where he died.

Live - or die? He died at L'Hôtel (in those days Hotel d'Alsace), 13, Rue Des Beaux Arts. However, he had been a frequent visitor to Paris during his lifetime, staying in a number of different places.
