The original "Star Wars" (1977) used a large number of filming sites, some of which were simply establishing backgrounds. Principal photographic locations were :
Star Wars (all movies) have been filmed in the following areas:
United States (California & Arizona)
Guatemala
Tunisia
Norway
Thailand
There were several places that they filmed Star Wars. In Episode I, they filmed the Tatooine scene in the deserts of Tunisia. In Episode II, they filmed the Tatooine desert scene in Tunisia again, but Owen Lars' home was filmed in Australia. In Episode IV, all of the Tatooine scenes were filmed in Australia, including the underground homes. In fact, in Australia, there are actually people who live in houses exactly like those seen in Episodes II and IV. It's a different architectural design and George Lucas actually paid these people to borrow their homes for the shooting of his movies. They're not just props and sets! You can actually go to Australia and find these houses and live in them!
IV: A New Hope
Tatooine-Tunisia, in North Africa
Yavin 4-Tikal, in Guatemala
V: The Empire Strikes Back
Hoth-Finse, in Norway
Endor-A Redwood forest near Crescent City, in California
As with most movies, different places, for example, I know the Endor scene(s) in Episode 6 was actually Redwood Forest in California, and the Tatoine scene(s) were in Tunisia, a country in Northern Africa.
Several places. All the scenes on the planet Tatooine were filmed in the Tunisia Desert. The Naboo Royal Palace scenes were filmed at the Caserta Palace in Campania, Italy. The Naboo forest scenes were shot in the Whippendell Woods in Hertfordshire, England. All other scenes were shot at Leavesden Studios in Hertfordshire, England
Most of it was done in filming studios in England. The forest on the planet where Maz Kanata resided was filmed in the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire, England. The scenes of the desert planet Jakku were done in Abu Dhabi. The landing docks were filmed at the Greenham Common in England. The final scene of the island Luke Skywalker was on was at the Skellig Michael island which is located 11.6 miles or 7.2 kilometers off the coast of Ireland
The Gungan battle wasn't filmed anywhere. It was 100% CGI animated. In fact, it's the first live action movie battle scene in cinema history to be 100% animated (I learned that from the bonus material on the complete saga Blu-Ray box set)
The films were filmed in tons of locations. Some were in studios. Some were in Italy (for the lake retreat scenes in Episode 2). To see all of the locations, try Google-searching it
Well i know only one place... the tunisian desert for where R2-D2 was shot.
Location shooting for episode 4 was done in Tunisia and Guatamala. Pickups were shot in Death Valley, in California. The rest of the movie was filmed at Elstree Studios in Hertfordshire.
The first episode of Star Wars, "A New Hope," was filmed in 1972.
As far as filming order is concerned, Star Wars: A New Hope (Episode IV) was the first Star Wars. The prequels (Episodes I-III) were filmed much later, and they served as the backstory that leads to the events of A New Hope.

Yoda did not appear in the original Star Wars, A New Hope.
The full title is Star Wars IV: A New Hope or Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, but when the movie first came out in American theatres, it was just called Star Wars.
