For firered:You can trade Pokemon on the second floor of the Pokemon center just use the escalator to go up then speak to the lady behind the far right counter she will save your game then choose trade center. For sapphire: Just like in firered go up to the second floor of the Pokemon center but talk to the lady behind the middle counter instead have a GBA link cable attached to two GBA's (GBASP works too) then have one of the players confirm the link by pressing A two times now you should enter the trade center sit in the seats then select the Pokemon you want to trade by pressing A then press A again on trade then have sapphire do the same confirm your choice one more time and the trade will begin.
