I changed the thermostat on my '99 Sebring Limited 2.5 l. convertible today (5/4/2005). As someone else stated, it's a tedious job but not impossible. Look underneath the pressure cap/fill pipe. There's a separate casting bolted to the block. It is held in with three bolts having 12 mm heads and one bolt that also attaches a wiring harness clamp. For whatever reason that bolt has a 13 mm (1/2") head. In order to access the casting you will need to remove the air intake duct work. I did not remove the transmission dipstick/fill tube, but that would make the job much easier. I also did not remove any coolant hoses. To do the job you will need 10, 12 & 13 mm sockets plus an assortment of various length extensions and u-joints. A magnet on a rod will no doubt be very useful. Be careful when reassembling it to make sure that the thermostat is properly seated. The whole job took me about 1 1/2 hours and a few skinned knuckles. Sam Yardumian
