== == Hi, most cars these days have the fuel sending unit and fuel pump located together inside the fuel tank.....because the fuel sender has stoped working the overhead display will not work either...hope this helps... Hi, I have a 2001 with a similar problem. I just reset my trip meter every time I gas up, and also the overhead console where it shows fuel used, although it is usually off by anywhere from 5 - 15 litres. I know that once I hit 500 kilometers, it is time to llok for gas. This is using trip meter A, trip meter B I use for last oil change, because the oil level number will let you go to about 6000 kilometers before getting down to 50.
Where is the dual overhead cam located or the air temp charge sensor?
It's called "ambient temperature sensor" and is located between the front grill and the radiator. It is slightly to the left of center of the hood latch.
The temp sensor is located behind the bumper, below and to the left of the driver's side headlight.
The outside temp sensor is located on the passenger side of grille by radiator
It is behind the front bumper, in front of the radiator.
May be located in the head nearest the firewall on the driver's side. That's where it is on my 95 3100.
The sensor is intergrated into the door latch. If it is not working (and the door chime stays on) spray it with WD 40. This almost always works.
There are two speed sensors, an input and output. They are located on the transmission. If the problem is the speedometer not working it is the output sensor located on the driver side of the rear of the transmission.
The air intake sensor is located in the air tube connecting to the air cleaner box. The tube runs driver's side to passenger's side at radiator location and is on the bottom side of the tube. Make a note.....the coolant temperature sensor and air intake sensor are the same.
The Ambient Temperature Sensor is located behind the grill and mounted to the radiator support with a "push in" connector. Remove the screws that attach the upper portion of the grill and pull the grill away from the vehicle enough to access the sensor.
The device under your rear view mirror ( if your referring to the oblong shaped black plastic box about 3 inches long...) Is the sensor for the overhead directional read out. If you have that box then you have a digital readout on your overhead console that tells you basically useless info that is barley accurate like... North South East and West and your average miles and gas mileage. The black box is for the North . South ect, read out. It senses your direction. Mine stopped working a while ago and was never right. It can be reset by means of a little hole in the bottom of it by inserting a paper clip and gently pushing the reset on it. it is not usually accurate but removing it will mess with the whole readout. I hope this helps Steve in Pa .
On the 4.0 SOHC V6 it is located on the left valve cover near the engine oil filler cap. On the 4.0L pushrod it is located at the rear of the engine block.
