It's attached directly to the brake pedal under the dash. There was a recall issued by Ford for them in early 2004, so you might be able to get it fixed for free at any Ford dealership. It depends if your vehicle was subject to the recall. If it wasn't, then the fix isn't too expensive, as the switch runs about $25 and the repair takes about a half hour.
