There is no start/off button on the 2012 furby.
You need to insert Duracell x4 Double A batteries, once you have inserted, it will automatically start. If you want it off, Leave it in inactivity for 1 minute, it will go to sleep. If you want to wake it up, press its tounge switch or hold it upside down.
