Why does child slavery happen?

One of the reasons for Child Labor to occur, especially in undeveloped countries, is because it is needed due to poverty.

There is a difference between attitude and toleration between the Western World and the Developing countries. For example, a family in Sweden or America frowns upon child labor and believe it is not suitable for children to work; they should be educated and taken care of, letting children be children.
For a family in Bangladesh or Somalia education for children is a distant dream. However, the families poverty and need for sources may evolve in children working. It is not frowned upon, although schooling would be the preferable option.

Child labor is a cause of poverty, lack of resources, lack of money, but also the lack of schooling.

Right now, about 25% of the world's children are slaves. They are used because they can easily bemanipulated and used. Some parents sell their children into slavery for a few dollars so the rest of the family can eat. Others are stolen from parents to make child armies and they are drugged and taught how to kill. Some are slaves in factories making Barbie dolls and Basketball for a few cents an hour. A child doesn't expect to be paid a full wage because they don't know what it is and they are locked into the factory compound. There are young girls who are sold to the streets of Thailand and Viet Nam for older men to use. American men book tours to come to use the young girls. This makes tons of money for the men who abuse them and own them. Again, they are poor young and have no hope. Many are 5, 6, 7 or 8 years old. In some Arab country slaves are tied to camels so make the camel run faster in the camel races. Children are considered expendable through out the world and not worth very much. They have no rights or people to care for them and the people who use them don't care if they live or die. They can get another child to replace them.

Companies use child labour because they think that children can't speak out, so they think it will be easy to get lots of work out of them without lots of problems.
