From the trees just outside Jerusalem. It's called Palm Sunday because this is when the Jews laid palm leaves on the road as Jesus entered Jerusalem.

Palm Sunday is a Christian feast which is the Sunday before Easter Sunday. It is also called Passion Sunday or Palm Sunday of the Lord's Passion. In many Christian churches on Palm Sunday Palm leaves, often tied into the shape of crosses are given out to everyone who attends. In some places, palm leaves are unobtainable, and other trees like box, yew, willow or other native trees have to be used instead. Th Sunday was sometimes called Yew Sunday if they were using yew trees or sometimes Branch Sunday.

On the first Palm Sunday, Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey and people put their cloaks and Palm leaves on the ground, to make it more comfortabe to walk on, and waved them as he went past. that's my re homework. :)

Palm Sunday is the day that commemorates Jesus' entry into Jerusalem before he was crucified. It is probably called Palm Sunday because in the book of John (chapter 12) it tells of how the people of Jerusalem took palm branches to go out and meet Jesus as he road into the city on the back of a donkey.
