The beef McDonald's serves in its restaurants in the United States is primarily raised in the US, supplemented by some beef imported from New Zealand and Australia. Not enough of the lean, grass-fed beef that McDonald's needs to meet its standards for leanness is available domestically.
A lot of people believe that McD's hamburger beef comes from old cull beef and dairy cows, but who really knows this? The thing is that could be part of it, but the other would most likely also be from the trimmings from steers butchered for beef off the feedlot. But let's not count out the meat from old cull beef and dairy cows, because they DO get turned into hamburger and sausage, since the meat off these cows isn't near good enough to be made into steaks and such like you'd get off a two year old finished beef steer.
Rumor has it that McDonald's is the largest buyer of beef lips and tongue! And it's just that: a rumor, there's no way anyone can prove it (or disprove it) except the corporation itself.
The majority of the hamburger in McDonald's beef patties from from the meat that is considered unsuitable to be used as steaks, roasts, soup/stew bones or any other cuts of meat that are not ground up. This doesn't include beef tongue, as it is considered a delicacies by many cultures. Thus it often comprises of most of the muscular tissue from a cow, from the neck all the way to the rump.
Usually locally. In Canada, all beef comes from Canada. In the U.S., most of its beef comes from the U.S. with a small portion sometimes being supplemented by Canada.
For the past 30 years McDonalds has been supplied 100% all beef USDA patties from Lopez Foods in Oklahoma City, OK.

A cattle farm, particularly one where beef cows are bred to raise beef calves intended for the supper table.
Almost all McDonalds restaurants serve beef, in the form of burgers. On a somewhat seasonal basis, many McDonalds serve "McRibs", which are pork.
Raise beef cattle for the purpose of turning those animals into meat. "Beef farm" is a very generic term, as it can refer to beef cow-calf operations or feedlot operations (and everything else in between.)
