I own a 2000 Audi A6 The battery was changed & I can not find the radio code to release the safe mode My vin # is WAUEH24B2YN010658 Any help would be greatly appreciated thankyou Bruce Klein
Should be in the owner's manual portfolio- if not trip to dealer. If you have your service book it should be on the first page. its a small sticker with digits on it.
Should be in the owner's manual. If not, hit up dealer with registration, and driver's license.
Owner's manual portfolio should have it. Or, make a trip to the dealer. Have the registration and driver's license ready.
Dealer can obtain that for you, or it is in the owner's manual portfolio.
The dealer can pull it using the VAG-COM.

Best bet is to go to an Audi/VW dealership, and have them reset the radio by using a VAGCOM. The other option would be to purchase a VAGCOM yourself (http://www.ross-tech.com/). Of course if you have the actual reset code, you can enter it in manually. I can't tell you specifically how to enter it on the Audi radio, since I have an Audi Navigation system, and the controls are different. But it should be a combination of using Volume and Seek (or other keys the would allow for scrolling) to enter in the code.
go to the dealer
You need the serial number from the side of the radio and also the VIN number. You call an Audi dealership and give them the two numbers and for a $30.00 fee they will give you the radio code to take the radio off of "safe" mode. Lewis Powell
your code is unique to your car... you'd have to get it from the dealer if you lost it.
the radio code is on the back of the radio. take the radio out and you can see it.
How do I unlock my 1998 I 30 radio reset
You need your operator's folder. In there is a booklet about the radio. it will have a code you need to enter to get the radio out of "safe" mode. the code is unique to each radio and car.
Many cars have a security feature that disables the factory radio if it is stolen. If your battery drains down to nothing, or if the cables are disconnected for any reason the system will react as if the radio has been removed from the car and will disable it. Your local Audi dealer will have the code to reactivate it.
I went to the dealer with the VIN and he was able to give the radio code
