Bernie Sanders first attended Brooklyn College for a year, but he decided to transfer to the University of Chicago. While there, he was very involved in student activism, especially related to civil rights. In 1964, he earned a bachelor's degree in political science. (While we do not have the curriculum from back then, standard degrees in Political Science consisted of courses about the history of politics, political theory, US politics, and political communication.)
