history says somewhere in the mideast but will never know completely cause we werent there It became a science when ancient people realized that there were 12 basic personality types directly connected with the seasons They knew that as the sun moved it stayed in each one for 90 days or about 3 months-and that people born then had a unique and distinctive behavior as each month passed They finally found that each planet in the heavens was connected with these 12 segments making this earthbound study really a 'star study' or Astrology

∙ 14y agoIt is not really known. It has also always been around. If one looks up at the zodiac constellations, one does not see the zodiac signs, but stars. The characteristics and ways of humanity were projected onto them. It is also much like using a silicone chip in a computer, and being programmed. So, the zodiac signs being programmed. It could have been done by very evolved beings for humanities growth and development.
Humanity also clings to the past too much, resisting the flow of the universe. At present, the signs have lagged behind by almost 2 signs. So, early February for instance would be Sagittarius. But, the Aquarius programming would remain there.

∙ 7y agoNo one really knows for sure. The Sumerian are one of the oldest cultures displaying evidence of astrological knowledge of the planetary cycles and the use of electional astrology. Many of the ideas and symbols in Western astrology are thought to have come from this region of the world.
