The Suboxone Patient Assistance Program, from the pharmaceutical company that manufactures the Suboxone medication themselves, Beckett Renckiser. You can contact Beckett Renckiser at 1-888-898-4818 and ask them about the Suboxone Patient Assistance Program.

I know this because I have went through this process before but the Addiction Specialist that I was seeing used an insurance company that would not allow Beckett Renckiser or any pharmaceutical company for that matter to send medications directly to his office. And that is how this Assistance Program works.

If your insurance does not cover suboxone, which many of them are covering it now, you can contact the company that makes it and they can send you a discount card that will help you pay for it but you must meet financial qualifications. Also, ask your prescribing doctor for any discount cards. They do make a generic according to my physician that is less expensive than Suboxone but it is only Buprenorphine so you must not be taking any narcotics for your doctor to trust you to take it because it does not have the additional ingredient that suboxone has that puts you into withdrawls if you mix them.

I'm not sure about methadone, but you can get help paying for Suboxone treatment. Like methadone, Suboxone is a synthetic opioid, but it is only for the treatment of mild to moderate opiate addiction. If you have a severe opiate addiction, Suboxone may not be strong enough for you. In that case, you would have to take methadone.

The program is called Here to Help. They offer assistance finding a Doctor Who is licensed to prescribe Suboxone, and you may also be able to get a year's worth of medication from them for free. They may even offer methadone treatment resources; I'm not sure. It doesn't hurt to ask, though. Their phone number is 866-973-HERE (866-973-4373).

First, I have to say that you almost be thankful in a way that you don't have insurance in this case, I have withdrawled from lortab, percocet, oxys, roxys, methadone, benzos, (you name it basically) and Suboxone and Subutex (both contain the same medication (Buprenorphine) only the Suboxone contains 2 mg of Naloxolone, which is an opiate blocker but is only effective if trying to take the drug by IV. This is the worst addiction I ever faced, I actually refer to this drug as the devil. I have been thru withdrawls from Buprenorphine. and was sick for at least 3 weeks, where as with those other medications I listed, the withdrawls typically only last for 3 days and are much, much more mild. Each time I got off the medicine, my back hurt so bad it felt like someone was literally breaking my in half, I could not sleep for 3-4 days, sneezed about 100 times/day, got muscle spasms, seriously even thought about suicide I felt so bad. It took me 6 years to finally get off of the medicine I know it sounds corny, because I heard it alot at my first NA meetings, but there is no magic pill, it does help to wean down, but it is still just as terrible, you just have to truly be sick and tired of being sick and tired. I was also discouraged by the cost of paying a $100/week DR fee and then the pills themselves can run up to $200/week. I never felt my DR really cared if any of us there got clean, only that we came in every week and paid our money. Please, please, reconsider starting a new drug that has such worse side effects. Hope everything works out for you and I will include you in my prayers.

Well you can't just buy Suboxone from anywhere, you will need to have a medical prescription either from a Suboxone doctor at a clinic or from a doctor at a detox center.

Can you use herion to help withdrawals on suboxone?

This seems counter productive as Suboxone is used to help withdrawl from Heroin. lf you are experiencing withdrawl while using Suboxone, or when tapering down from Suboxone, talk to your doctor. lf you have been using Suboxone without a doctor's prescription, and are now without it, talk to a doctor, a pharmacist or an addiction clinic. Heroin would be your worst option to help with withdrawl. At home help for withdrawl symptoms: imodium, ASA or ibuprofen or naproxin, something to help you sleep such as Benadryl or Gravol or better yet, a prescription sedative from your doctor. Note - do not use Nyquil to help you sleep.

Is suboxone illegal to take without a prescription?

Yes. It is a controlled substance. I was pulled over one time and searched (for no reason) and the cop found a few suboxone 8mg pills in my pocket not in the bottle and he arrested me even though I had a legitimate prescription. I was acquitted of the charge when I produced the prescription in court later but I lost the job I had because of the "pending felony." Just get a prescription , they are very easy to come by.
