ASPCA has a lot of volunteer work. So does Petsmart. If Michigan has those places that is. Or you can check out any local vet's clinic. That's what I did before I was able to …get a job; volunteer work with animals.
Try your local shelters and rescue groups. They may require the parent to stay and volunteer too, but some don't. Check www.petfinder.com for a list of shelters and rescues in… your area.
Children ages 8-13 (Which includes a 10 year old kind) . Children ages 8-13 are eligible to participate in our PAWS Club, which meets once a month. During the monthly meeting…s children will learn about animals and partake in projects, which will benefit animals, especially the homeless animals housed by Animal Rescue, Inc. The PAWS Club also participates in fundraising events for the shelter. To become a member of the PAWS Club a registration form must be completed. If you have child in this age group who may be interested in joining you may download a copy of the registration form or stop by Animal Rescue and request a form. The PAWS Club does require annual dues which cover the cost of supplies.
Google rescue agencies in your area, or look it up in the phone book. If you are from Canada, we have the SPCA (society for the prevention of cruelty to animals) I don't see w…hy they wouldn't let you volunteer as a dog walker or something. You won't likely be able to get anything at a vet's office or a doggie daycare or anything like that, but rescue agencies should let you help out, even if its just a small part.

Go to your local hospital and work as a Candy Striper. These are teens who help people in various ways. Bring books and magazines around, bring people the giflts and plants bo…ught from the gift shop, read to people, and other things that don't require medical training. Help at the local Red Cross or in a church kitchen serving food to the homeless. The local libraries are often looking for people to read to preschool children the stories in the children's sections. Do you have a talent or craft? Some boys and girls clubs will allow students to teach other younger kids a craft or help. Usually, there is a volunteer agency in most cities/towns and they will connect you with a group or business who need people. Try that.
