ASPCA has a lot of volunteer work. So does Petsmart. If Michigan has those places that is. Or you can check out any local vet's clinic. That's what I did before I was able to get a job; volunteer work with animals.
To work as a volunteer at a pet shelter would be a great thing to do!!! The animals need human contact and care.Much would depend on the individual shelter. You would have to talk to the people at the shelter. They may require you to have an adult there or they may want you there during "normal" hours. There are many things you could do for a shelter. Many skills can be used besides caring for animals, to include taking pictures, putting them on the shelter web page, passing out information, and helping around the shelter building.Give your local shelter a call.Good luck and thanks for caring for animals
You can volunteer at a pet shelter at the age of 12 or 13. But at that age the only things you can do are: feeding, watering, combing and brushing. If not, they may not let children volunteer at Shelters because the fear of animals being aggressive and having the children be hurt by the animals. Just look into it and see. :)
Of course! But try like an animal services, not like the Humane Society. Because at the Humane Society you have to be like 17 or 18 to volunteer or work there. But, you can't really work there, you can volunteer which is like working, but you dont actually have to stay all day. The jobs you probably can do is Feeding, Bathing, walking and interacting with them. I am so thankful and happy, to know, that there is lots of animal lovers in this world and will do anything for them. But not all dogs are lucky. (Cry Cry)
