If you mean that you are contemplating restoring it to factory settings...then, yes, it will wipe the unit. You would want to restore it to factory default if you are planning to sell it so your personal data won't be on it.no it wont i have done it lots of times before. it simply like cleans it up you could say and fixes it but it does not erase.
