You pay:

  • 'Zakat Alfitr' any time in Ramadan or after Ramadan but before the feast praying 'salat al eid' or before sunrise of the first day after end of the month of Ramadan.
  • 'Zakat al Mal' on the money that you have above certain minimum (value of 83 grams of Gold) that remain for one Hijra Islamic year and you pay on completion of this year. To make life easier in the calculation and payment of Zakat Al Mal, it is recommended to fix a certain Hijra month, as Ramadan for example, and on this month you calculate or your savings as of this month. Then you estimate the due Zakat amount as at least 2.5 % of this saving and then you pay them through this month.
