Yes, formatting your camera (which formats the memory card as well) will delete your photos. You need to back up your photos before you format them, unless your photos are unwanted.

Connect to a computer with an USA cable and use the camera memory as a storage disk. You will be able to view and delete photos. Or take out the memory card and put in your computer or a memory card reader. Very easy to delete photos.

Go to "My computer" and then into the memory stick. If it does not appear there you may need to refresh the window and wait for the computer to find the memory or install the drivers for the memory so that the computer can see and access it. Once accessed you should find files and or folders. Find out where the pictures are, can be one large file containing several pictures. Google the file extension to find out what software you can use to access the file.

Only if you format the card or delete them, it's not exactly like losing something in a big bag.

You have to turn your Olympus camera all the way off before you take the memory card out and put a new one in. If you do not, there is the chance that the camera will automatically format the disc. This means that everything that you have on it will be erased. Getting these pictures back is sometimes impossible. If you turn the camera off first, this cannot happen. Your pictures will be safe.

With the assumption that each picture taken by the camera is 4 Mb, 32 Mb of memory can save a few pictures. It can only save 8 pictures.
