I think we were always considered people but many people did (and a considerable amount still do) see us as lesser beings because we were different to them or lacked social skills.

I think even in an autistic society some will treat typical people as lesser because I know some autistic people (mainly on autistic networks) who can't stand typical people because of cultural differences(although our cultural differences are considered strange because we look like everyone from the culture we were born into)

Autistic people are 'cleverer' than people who use the word 'cleverer' that is certain. In theory Autistic people are more intelligent than Neurotypical people, but there is no reliable measure of intelligence or way to say for sure which group of people is more intelligent.

Do people with autism live long?

Autistic people (identity-first language) live as long as Neurotypical people, Autism doesn't impact on health in such a way that could shorten someone's life. In theory Autistic people have a slightly shorter lifespan because some Autistic people have problems identifying harmful behaviour - such as children who wander near water - also due to prejudice Autistic people may be more likely to be unemployed or be denied equal medical care which impacts on life.

Are people with autism crazy?

No, autistic people are not 'crazy'. Many autistic people can have mental health issues but they're no more likely to have mental health issues than anyone else and often mental health issues in autistic people is more to do with how society treats autistic people - e.g. depression is more likely in autistic people who are bullied or face discrimination.

Does ABA always help autistic people?

No, in fact ABA is considered to be abusive towards Autistic people. At it's best it is a form of training used to attempt to force an Autistic person to act like they are neurotypical - at it's core it assumes neurotypical is normal and that Autistic people are inferior, as such it is ableist and can teach low self-esteem in Autistic people, it also puts the burden on Autistic people to add to their strain by attempting to pass as neurotypical (rather than encouraging Autistic people to be themselves and encourage wider society to accept Autistic people). At it's worst ABA is abusive, involving abuse via punishment and denying Autistic people the things they need to maintain mental and neurological help e.g. preventing stimming or down time to cope with over stimulation, or punishing an Autistic person for suffering a meltdown which is beyond their control.

What charities help autistic kids?

Autistic Self-Advocacy Network is regarded as one of the best organisations for Autistic people, not sure if they are a charity or not but they are a good first-call for information on helping Autistic people. Avoid Autism Speaks, they are considered to be a hate group and although they claim to help Autistic people they actually harm us. From propaganda to torture, from supporting parents murdering Autistic children to eugenics - Autism Speaks does not speak for us.

What is neurodiversity with autism?

Neurodiversity means recognizing that there are different types of brains - Autistic, ADHD, bipolar, etc. - which are all variations of humankind, different but equal. It is similar to recognizing that everyone is a different skin colour and no one race should be considered better than the other.Neurodiversity supports the idea that Autistic people should be treated as equal to Neurotypical people, that they should not be forced to try to be Neurotypical at the cost of their own health just to be accepted within society. Autistic people should be considered equal to other people.

Is the autism puzzle piece copyrighted?

No, the puzzle piece associated with autism is not copyrighted. It was originally used by the UK autism charity National Autistic Society and has since been adopted by other major autism organisations around the world. Note: The puzzle piece is considered offensive by many autistic people because it implies autistic people are missing or a puzzle, also because of the associated with Autism Speaks which is widely considered a hate group by the autism community.

What shouldn't autistic people do?

There is absolutely nothing that an autistic person cannot do. Autism is a neurological difference, it can be considered a disability as it can limit people in some ways, but it doesn't stop them from doing anything.

How do you get autistic spectrum?

Autism Spectrum Disorder is a neurological condition, autistic people are born autistic - we do not know why people are autistic.

How do you get involed with autism speaks?

You wouldn't, not if you cared about Autistic people. Autism Speaks is widely considered a hate group by Autistic people. They use hate speech and propaganda about Autism to increase their profits, very little of their profits go towards helping Autistic people and their families, and instead Autism Speaks support 'curing' Autism which means preventing Autistic people being born. The organization has no Autistic people in their leadership, they refuse to listen to Autistic people who tell them that they are causing harm to the Autism community, they also support anti-vaccination movements, torture of Autistic children, and they sympathize with parents who murder their Autistic children. If you're interested in helping Autistic people a better organisation to get involved with is the Autism Self Advocacy Network - this is run by and for Autistic people and does a lot more to help Autistic people than Autism Speaks ever has. Go to their web site and Facebook page to see what opportunities they have available to work with them or to do fundraising.
