ammonia (hydrogen nitride) occurs naturally in crystal form found in sea water and fertile soil. Ammonia was first isolated in 1774 by Joeseph Priestly by the designation alkaline air, but it was in 1785 when claude Louis berthollet cataloged it's composition.
