Basically, no. Their spacesuit helmets were darkened, as lunar sunlight is much brighter than even desert sunlight.

I believe some astronauts may have reported seeing stars in the top port of the LM. This would have been when they were inside, with the shades drawn to block out light from the surface, when they were trying to sleep.

The brightness of the surface meant that cameras had to be adjusted to let in very little light, so stars did not show in the shots. Ask any photographer how this works. Tell them the Apollo film was ASA 100, at 1/250 of a second, or thereabouts. But Apollo 16 took a special camera, shielded from bright light. It took almost 200 pictures of stars! So much for the people who believe Apollo was a hoax because stars weren't seen in pictures.

I think shows like Star Trek have made people think that once you are in space, stars are bright enough to be seen from inside a well-lit room. Sorry, no.

Meteors do not burn up on the moon the way they do on Earth, because the moon does not have an atmosphere. However, the impact of meteors on the surface of the moon would still be observable (but not as easily). And astronomers on the moon could also be looking at the Earth, and could observe meteors in the Earth's atmosphere.

not many

Since there is no atmosphere to scatter sunlight and obscure your view, I believe that you can. You would just have to avoid looking too close to the sun. The moon's surface is very reflective too, so you may have to work at it, depending on the time of lunar day.

Yes. The stars are visible from the surface of the moon all the time,

even when the sun is also in the sky.

No because moon has no atmosphere so everything that falls to the moon doesn't burn up. It just hits the terrain

What are some important conditions needed to successfully observe a meteor shower?

Clear skies, no obstructions such as buildings, no very bright moon and no close city lights. A bright moon and city lights make the sky a bit brighter so the meteors you do see don't appear as bright and some of the dimmer ones you would not see at all, but you could if there was no moon and if you were in a remote location.
