Usually, you should begin thinking about a career in the 8th grade, and by talking to your counselor, complete an Interest Survey. This can give you an idea of what you are suited for, and a step in the right direction. Again in the 10th grade, i would update my Career Interest Survey and see how close to the first one it is. You will change your mind about a career often during high school, BUT, your interest may not change much at all.
They should meet with them before registration, and meet with them each semester, and whenever the student has a questioned about there courses, registration, career path, etc.
