Cussing, name calling, exaggerating when you tell them they have done something wrong and call them things like lazy, dumb etc when in fact children learn better when you speak slowly and looks them in the face calmly. Like most of us do. When someone yells or call you names you shut down or get angry. Sarcasm and irony is mean as well since small kids haven't learned it yet.
Some positive reinforcements for preschool children are verbal reienforcement, stickers, a board where stars for good behavior can be placed beside each child's name, etc.
