They SHOULD descend before age 1 year. If not the risks for testiculer cancer and infertility rise and he will need them surgically released. Many premature infants are born before the testes drop. Usually they will descend in the first 3 months after birth. If not by then, they are likely to descend in the next 3 months. If not by 6 months of age they are not as likely to descend on their own.

Typically a baby's testicles will have descended by the time it is born, and it is one of the checks done on the newborn before it leaves the hospital. If it hasn't descended by the time the baby is 1 year old, he needs to see a doctor as this could lead to serious complications.

How do you know if a male kittens testicles have descended?

Generally the testicles are descended at birth, but if not descended by 6 months then they're probably not going to and it's a sign of a problem. There isn't any really accurate way for a person to check to see if they've descended. To be sure you should have your veterinarian check.

Do male ferrets have a season?

Yes, the male ferret or Hob's breeding season is in the early spring and summer when the testicles enlarge and descend into the scrotum, the rest of the year the testicles are out of sight. If a hob is trying to breed and the testicles have not descended, the sperm will be infertile.

How do you know if a male cat?

Before about six weeks of age, a male cat's testicles have not descended and it can be difficult to tell whether you're looking at a male or s female. At six to ten weeks, testicles should be visible on the male. With kittens, this method can be used to identify the gender:First, lift the tail. You'll see two openings on both male and female. The upper opening on both is the anus. For the female, the lower opening is the vagina and appears as a vertical slit, placed very close to the anus. For the male, the lower opening hides the penis and is rounder, located roughly a half inch below the anus.

Can a male pot belly pigs be born without testicles?

I do not know the answer to this for sure, however, I recently took our 7 week old male pot belly pig to be neutered, and the vet cut where the testicles should be...and found none. She then cut higher and again found none what-so-ever. She stated that he was either born without both testicles (rare - less than 1% born without both testicles), or that they are in his abdomen. She then advised to keep an eye on him for another month and see if any testicles descend or if he becomes aggressive and gets that musky male odor that intact boars get. If so, we are to take him back and if no testicles have descended, then she will have to open his abdomen and look around in there to see if that is where they are. If she does not find the testicles there, then it will mean that he was born without both testicles. I would love to have a clear answer from someone "in the know" on this however. Thanks

What happens when males get hit in the balls?

When a male is hit in the testicles, a male experiences extreme pain, accompanied by several other symptoms. The reason why it is so painful, is because a male's testicle have many nerves on them, which when struck cause pain. Simultaneously, when a male is hit, the abdominal muscles contract, which causes loss of breath, which is often interpreted as the voice becoming higher. Male's also usually double over because of the muscle contraction and to prevent further damage to the testicles. Males also experience the majority of pain not in the testicles, but in the abdominal cavity, this is because the nerves run to the abdominal cavity, from which the testicles descended so it is where the pain runs. Some males also experience nausea, sometimes leading to vomiting. Often times there can be a persistent pain for anywhere from minuets to hours depending on the severity of the strike. Also, if a male's testicles are struck wit sufficient force, the testicles can rupture, causing possible infertility and pain. It should also be noted that striking a male's testicles is illegal and you can be charged with assault.
