09/11/1964 - The Beatles perform at The Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, Florida. At first The Beatles refuse to perform until newsreel and television cameramen have left the arena, but the cameramen refuse to leave. Eventually Derek Taylor steps to the microphone in shirt-sleeves and issues an ultimatum. "The Beatles are 100 feet away, They came thousands of miles to be here. The only thing preventing their appearance is cine cameramen." After that police officers physically restrain eight cameramen, cover their camera lenses with their hands, and lead them from the performance area.

Unfortunately, due to the extensive damage that had been caused in the area by Hurricane "Dora", 9,000 of the 32,000 fans who had purchased tickets for The Beatles' concert were unable to make it to the show. The concert runs smoothly despite a strong wind. The Beatles' hair is whipped, and Ringo Starr's drums have to be nailed to the stage.
