Houses of Parliament
The old houses of parliament in London were built in the middle ages but it had a fire,so it was demolished in 1834 and rebuilt from 1840-1870
a number of catholic conspiritors including guy Fawkes tried to burn down the houses of parliament with the gun powder plot.. i don't know the rest but i think basically they put him on the fire to burn.
I think they should. Guy Fawkes of course, was the Catholic who tried to blow up the English Parliament but failed. Guy Fawkes day is a day of anti-Catholocism - they burn an effige of the Pope and have a huge fire.
The English Houses of Parliament were originally built in the Middle Ages. However, they were demolished in 1834 because of fire. They were rebuilt between 1840 and 1870.
The opening of parliament in November coincides with a time that traditionally the fallen leaves were burnt in bonfires, as well as all saints eve on 31st October when witches were burnt. The irony is also there as Guy Fawkes tried to use fire to destroy Westminster Palace
the great fire of London started in a bakery and then spread on the houses. Because the houses were made of wood and straw, it made it easier to burn. Fuel- the houses
The wooden houses were the main fuel for the fire.
