If you mean food other than milk, the normal age to start them on thin cereal is about a month. However, remember that not all babies are 'normal'. My granddaughter refused everything except formula until she was nearly a year old. Then, her first food was a mushroom off a Papa John's Pizza, quickly followed by the rest of the slice.
