You need to give your wisdom teeth sockets time to heal. This means that you should avoid irritating the area. The healing process begins with a blood clot. If you spit, smoke a cigarette, drink from a straw, you can cause a pressure that removes the clot from the socket. The is called dry socket and needs to be treated by the dentist, it is also associated with significant discomfort. To answer your question you can brush your teeth but avoid the areas that were involved with the surgery for at a few days. Your surgeon should give you a specific time frame that is associated with the type of procedure that was done.
