When the stem of the implant starts to come loose you will experience pain and discomfort. It is important to visit your surgeon for two reasons.

Firstly, to get the diagnosis confirmed - there are other possible sources for the pain and discomfort.

Secondly, if the surgeon confirms that the implant is loosening, s/he will be able to advise you on the best course of action. This will probably involve a referral to a physical therapist who will prescribe exercises to help strengthen the joint and advise you on what type of movements to avoid.
