When the stem of the implant starts to come loose you will experience pain and discomfort. It is important to visit your surgeon for two reasons.
Firstly, to get the diagnosis confirmed - there are other possible sources for the pain and discomfort.
Secondly, if the surgeon confirms that the implant is loosening, s/he will be able to advise you on the best course of action. This will probably involve a referral to a physical therapist who will prescribe exercises to help strengthen the joint and advise you on what type of movements to avoid.
Specific to the DePuy ASR hip implants the list of symptoms for a failing replacement include: * Swelling * Limited flexibility resulting in change of stride or limping * Hip and or groin pain
A hip replacement consist of a cup, and a stem (that sits in the femur). Typically a surgeon will either press fit a hip replacement in (fit in tight, and allow the bone to grow into it), or use a bone cement to secure the implant in position. A hybrid typically means he will cement one component in, and press fit the other.
Contact your physician for an examination of your implant system. Describe any potential symptoms you my be experiencing such as swelling and/or discomfort.

Hip Replacement or hip arthroplasty is a surgical procedure to treat the damaged portion of the hip. A person who performs this procedure by making certain incisions to remove the damaged part of the hip and replacing them with prosthetic implants is a Hip Replacement surgeon.
If you need a hip replacement, then age is not an issue.

Hip replacements can be both. But a revision is simply when they have to re-operate, or revise an exisiting hip replacement, often by putting a new one in.
A replacement hip should not be squeaking. Contact your surgeon regarding this. There may be a recall on the replacement hip, or there may be a more simple solution. Do not assume that this is normal.
