The difference being is that the Buddhist calender starts at the birth of The Buddha, which is supposed to be about 563 BCE, but the exact date is in question.

∙ 14y agoBuddhism does not claim a specific amount of time between now and the creation of the earth, due to the fact that it is not a religion which focuses on the question of the origin of life. Buddhism has no creation myth of it's own, as it's originator, Siddhartha Gautama, was born into Hinduism. When Buddhist scripture mentions myth, it is usually a Hindu myth.
