(Note that the Germans never took the key areas of Egypt and were thrown out of the country in late 1942. I wonder if you're thinking of Greece). Germany invaded Yugoslavia on April 6th, 1941. At the beginning of the 40's, Yugoslavia found itself surrounded by hostile countries. Except for Greece, all other neighboring countries had signed agreements with either Germany or Italy. Hitler was strongly pressuring Yugoslavia to join the Axis powers. The government was even prepared to reach a compromise with him, but the spirit in the country was completely different. Public demonstrations against Nazism prompted a brutal reaction. Luftwaffe bombed Belgrade and other major cities and in April 1941, the Axis powers occupied Yugoslavia and disintegrated it. The western parts of the country together with Bosnia and Herzegovina were turned into a Nazi puppet state called the Independent State of Croatia (NDH) and ruled by the Ustashe. Serbia was occupied by German troops, but the northern territories were annexed by Hungary, and eastern and southern territories to Bulgaria. Kosovo and Metohija were mostly annexed by Albania which was under the sponsorship of fascist Italy. Montenegro also lost territories to Albania and was then occupied by Italian troops. Slovenia was divided between Germany and Italy that also seized the islands in the Adriatic. Following the Nazi example, the Independent State of Croatia established extermination camps and perpetrated an atrocious genocide killing over 750.000 Serbs, Jews and Gypsies. This Holocaust set the historical and political backdrop for the civil war that broke out fifty years later in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina and that accompanied the break-up of Yugoslavia in 1991-1992.

because Mussolini lost control of his people (and he was hanged)

Hitler did not invade Italy. Italy joined Germany as an ally just prior to the invasion of Poland in 1939. Germany sent troops provide assistance to Italy during their campaign in Italy, Greece, and the Balkans. When the Allies began to win in Africa, the Italian people began to grow tired of the war. In July 1943, during the fighting in Sicily, the Italians overthrew Mussolini's rule and voted him out of office. Hitler saw this as treachery and began to take over the Italian Army. Many men were forced to serve the Germans or be sent to concentration camps. Hitler need to keep the Allies tied down in fighting and out of Germany. There were still Fascists in the Italian Government and the Italian Army that willingly fought alongside of the Germans and under the authority of Mussolini, who was set up as a puppet leader. After 8 Sept 1943, the Germans became an occupation force in Italy.

Hitler and the Nazis never invaded Israel.

Israel as an independent state was created in 1948, three years after Hitler was dead and the Nazi regime crushed.

In terms of territory, the German Afrika Corps, under Gen. Erwin Rommel, was decisively defeated at the Battle of El Alamein in Egypt. This prevented the Nazis from invading Palestine from the Egyptian side. Also Syria and Lebanon came under Free-French control in July 1941 as a result of the Syria-Lebanon Campaign, effectively preventing the Germans from invading from the north. (These territories had been under Vichy French control from June 1940, but Germany was concentrated outside of the Middle East in late 1940 and early 1941. In Mid-1941, the Nazis tried to establish a Fascist State in Iraq, but failed as a result of the Anglo-Iraqi War of 1941.
